** New Episode Alert **Episode 18 – Red Balloons : A Father, A Son, A Memo
Introducing the Bereaved Parents’ Club
It’s the club none of us want to be members of, but here we are.
My name is Debbie, and I’m a bereaved parent and your host.
This podcast is for all of us, to share and celebrate the stories of our children, and offer support to each other. Each episode will explore topics that have relevance to us as we navigate the world as bereaved parents. Whether your loss was last week, last month, last year or even last century, you are welcome here. And whether your child was a baby, a youngster, a teenager, an adult, or even a parent themselves, you are welcome here.
Please be aware that each episode will deal with themes of death and loss.

Now, I AM a total novice when it comes to podcasting, and I can’t lie, some of the technical issues I’ve encountered have left me ready to throw the towel in and give up, because I wanted to make something really good, not just passable. And that’s despite the wonderful advice and coaching from Vic at MIC Media! What I’ve created is far from perfect, and I hope that you will forgive these imperfections in this first series and focus on the wonderful guests and the content and meaning of their words instead. I have high hopes that by series two I’ll have grown in confidence and skill and the podcasts quality will be much better overall.
I couldn’t do this alone; it takes lots of time and energy, and those of us involved are all volunteers. I am immensely grateful to Tracy, George’s mum, for her website support, early encouragement, and editorial feedback. Also, huge thanks to Lauren for being so generous with her time and bringing all her marketing expertise and drive to this project. Between us all we’ll be keeping the website and social media channels up to date with episodes, links to services, contacts for support groups and anything else we think listeners might be interested in.
As a quick aside, Tracy has recently produced a fantastic fundraising cookbook that celebrates food and love and raises money for The Compassionate Friends. It’s called Cooked With Love, and it has loads of recipes inspired by our fabulous children.
